Shutts & Bowen Names Seven New Partners

Shutts & Bowen LLP named seven new partners at its recent annual meeting, four of whom are women. With over 225 attorneys, Shutts & Bowen has just completed another record setting year in 2012 and is looking forward to supporting and promoting more talented attorneys in the future.

Jason W. Hill is a partner in Shutts & Bowen’s Construction Litigation Practice Group in Orlando and Florida Bar Board Certified in Construction Law. Mr. Hill advocates for his clients in a broad array of commercial and construction litigation. He received his J.D. from William & Mary Law School.

Rachel H. LeBlanc is a partner in Shutts & Bowen's Fort Lauderdale Office.  She concentrates her practice in commercial litigation, handling matters involving insurance, class action defense, administrative law and insurance regulatory matters.  Ms. LeBlanc has substantial experience with handling cases brought pursuant to The Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. She received her J.D. from The University of Memphis.

Kimberly A. Prior is a partner in Shutts & Bowen’s Miami office, where she practices in the firm’s Financial Services Practice Group handling regulatory, transactional and corporate matters for domestic and international financial services firms and businesses, including banks, broker-dealers and investment advisors. She received her L.L.M. from the University of Miami and her J.D. from Stetson University.

Matthew S. Sackel is a partner in the Litigation Department in Shutts & Bowen's West Palm Beach office.  He has extensive experience in both commercial litigation and labor and employment litigation.  Additionally, he has drafted numerous appellate briefs and has argued before the 4th DCA. He received his J.D. from Washington University.

Lauren M. Sobel is a partner in Shutts & Bowen's Business Litigation Practice Group in Miami, representing domestic and international clients in complex commercial litigation matters.  Ms. Sobel’s work includes breach of contract, trademark, copyright, and labor and employment. Although Ms. Sobel's practice centers on federal litigation, she also handles disputes in state court, including real estate and creditors' rights matters. She received her J.D. from Fordham University.

C. Mark Stevenson is a partner in Shutts & Bowen’s Tax & International Law Practice group in the Tampa office. He focuses his practice on matters relating to limited liability companies, partnerships, and other pass-through entities and the taxation of those entities.  He advises clients on the United States federal and Florida state tax implications of transactions.  Mr. Stevenson is experienced in structuring business ventures.  He regularly advises clients concerning the tax and non-tax aspects of business relationships. He received his L.L.M. from the University of Florida and his J.D. from the University of Miami.

Janelle A. Weber is a partner in Shutts & Bowen’s Tampa office and a member of the Business Litigation Practice Group.  Ms. Weber focuses her practice on commercial litigation, real property litigation, and insurance class action defense.  She also represents financial institutions in foreclosures of commercial properties.  She received her J.D. from the University of Florida.
