On Saturday, February 20, Shutts & Bowen attorneys and staff joined more than 2,000 volunteers and the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami for its annual Blitz Build, an accelerated construction event where 10 new homes are completed in two weeks for low-income partner families in the Perrine area of South Miami-Dade.
Miami attorneys, staff and their families participated in day seven of the Build, painting the exterior of a South Florida home. Other local businesses joined the effort in building community, including Morgan Stanley, Fowler White Burnett, Berger Singerman, Link Construction as well as sponsor Baptist Health South Florida.
Habitat for Humanity provides home ownership opportunities to low-income families in all of Miami's communities of need by building and renovating modest homes with family partners and providing them with interest-free loans for the purchase of these homes.
