Florida Memorial University, South Florida’s only Historically Black College and University, has named Sidney C. Calloway one of the founding members of its President’s Advisory Council. The Council, selected by President Karl S. Wright, is composed of a select group of community, business and civic leaders. It has been created to promote the University’s programs and activities throughout South Florida. Florida Memorial University celebrates its 130th anniversary this year.
Mr. Calloway is a partner in Shutts & Bowen’s Government Law Practice Group and is an accomplished lawyer, lobbyist and litigator. He has been a mentor to aspiring young attorneys and has held leadership roles in the Early Learning Coalition of Broward County, Florida Transportation Commission, T.J. Reddick Bar Association, NAACP of Broward County, and many other organizations. Mr. Calloway is currently the Chairman of the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.
