Webinar

On Thursday, April 9, Miami partner Tiffany Comprés will be a featured panelist for the Florida Bar International Law Section CLE Webinar titled “Surviving the Epidemic of Force Majeure Claims in International Contracts.” The panel will include Al Lindsay of Hogan Lovells and Carlos Osorio of Osorio Internacional, P.A.

Tiffany will be speaking on how force majeure applies in international law, with a focus on the application of the U.N. Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG), regardless of whether or not a formal contract exists. The webinar will also cover the differences between commercial impracticality, impossibility, act of God and force majeure; how these concepts apply in the US and other jurisdictions; the scope of Article 79 of the CISG; what happens when you do not have a force majeure clause in your contract; and special considerations to take when dealing with construction projects.
