International Litigation and Arbitration associate Giancarlo Cueto participated in the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) Americas Meeting 2025, which took place in Montreal, Canada, from January 30 to February 1.
Giancarlo, who is in Shutts & Bowen’s Miami office, was a member of the Organizing Committee for this year’s meeting, titled “Legal Innovation Lab: Navigating Law and Business in the Americas.” The event brought together lawyers and industry leaders from across the Americas to collaborate on innovative legal solutions for today and tomorrow’s challenges. Participants explored the dynamic and evolving landscape of disputes, trade, labor, and commercial transactions across the continent.
Giancarlo also served as the Session Coordinator for a panel titled “From Transactions to Disputes: Mitigating Risks in the Americas.” The panel explored key issues clients and their counsel should consider when entering into a cross-border transaction, and the importance of integrating transactional and dispute resolution expertise during the contract drafting process to anticipate and address potential risks, both before and after a dispute arises.
