Partner Patricia Leonard; associates Hassan Jaafar, Robyn Kramer, Jonathan Lawler, Jake Monk, and Pilar Rubio; and project attorneys Christa Gardner and Ivane Sargent bring a diverse range of legal experience to support our over 30 practice areas.
Christa Gardner (Project Attorney, Miami) is a member of the Class Action and Mass Litigation Practice Group. Christa has served as an intern for the Office of the Public Defender of Miami-Dade County as well as at a law firm in Santiago, Chile.
Hassan Jaafar (Associate, Orlando) is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. Prior to joining Shutts, Hassan concentrated his experience in tax controversy, planning, research and compliance. He has also served as an intern for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel and as a clerk for the Michigan Tax Tribunal.
Robyn Kramer (Associate, Orlando) focuses her practice on real estate development. She is a graduate of Emory Law, where she clerked with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and was an online editor for the Emory Law Journal.
Jonathan M. Lawler (Associate, Orlando) practices in construction litigation. While at Emory Law, he clerked for numerous federal agencies, including the EEOC. He was the executive managing editor of the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal.
Patricia A. Leonard (Partner, West Palm Beach) handles contract, partnership and corporate disputes, pharmaceutical, food and real estate litigation and IP matters. Patti is currently working on the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign.
Jake Monk (Associate, Miami) represents insurance carriers and other corporations in trial and appellate matters. Prior to private practice, he spent several years working in consulting and project management.
Pilar Rubio (Associate, Miami) is a member of the Tax and International Law Practice Group. Pilar’s practice includes pre-immigration tax planning, tax impact of alternative structures for U.S. and foreign persons, asset protection vehicles and corporate reorganizations.
Ivane Sargent (Project Attorney, Miami) is a member of the firm’s Class Action and Mass Litigation Practice Group. She has interned with the Office of the Public Defender and served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Patricia Marino-Pedraza.
